Calm Along Lakeshore

Calm Along Lakeshore

After a good late day thunderstorm passed through the area the clouds finally started to break up, I made my way South of Breckenridge to the Tarn Lake where it was glass calm. With no wind on this evening, the lake would break with a splash here and there as the trout where having a fest on the bugs flying around. When setting up to take this shot I heard branches break along the edge of the lake, looking South a huge moose was running through wet lands after crossing the highway. Pretty sweet Summer evening this turned out to be!!! http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Driving into Colorado Mountains

Driving into Colorado Mountains

Driving up into the Colorado mountains along a back road the storm clouds finally broke, I found a good spot to pull off to the side of the road to try and capture the Milky Way above. After setting up the camera I took this photograph looking South, while standing here I could hear the roar of the river in the valley below while a very light cool breeze was blowing through the area. Not a bad place to be while most of the Southwest of the United States deal with one crazy heat wave. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Ten Mile Range Sunset

Ten Mile Range Sunset

The other evening when on a hike above town the sky started to blow up over the Ten Mile Range, with still a fair amount of snow packed on the peaks, it finally starting to melt with the warm weather that has been settling into the Colorado Rockies. The sunset lasted a good twenty minutes before it faded away, once gone it was time to double time it back to my truck since I was parked a good two miles away. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Camping under the Moon

Camping under the Moon

On a very nice night while camping under the moon in Northern Wyoming, I made my way over to this location to once again set my camera up for some all night time-lapse photography. When pulling off some test shots the glow from the campfire was lighting the fence, while the moon made the surrounding area look almost like day. With the sounds of the frogs in the distance and a cool still air settling into the area around me, this turned out to be another one of those very relaxing evenings. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Remote Area in Northwest Wyoming

While on a evening hike in a very remote area in Northwest Wyoming we made our way along a trail to the lake, it seem like there was bear sign around every corner as we hiked a couple miles along the shoreline. With only being armed with some bear mace on this trip, I was very glad we didn’t run into any grizzly on this evening! http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Grand Teton Reflection

Grand Teton Reflection

After packing up camp and rolling out of Grand Teton National Park, I had to pull off the side of the road to capture the Teton mountains reflecting in the calm lake. A bank of clouds was starting to build over the mountains to the West, but this turned out to be a great start to another very nice day in Northwest Wyoming. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Remote Lake in Northwest Wyoming

Remote Lake in Northwest Wyoming

Rolling in very late at night along a remote lake in Northwest Wyoming, I noticed the Milky Way was blazing bright high above. Before heading in for the night, I grabbed my camera and tripod then made my way down to the shoreline. When setting up my gear the lake was class calm while a light glow was shining to the South where a small town sat, I shot off a couple of photographs then decided to leave my camera in time-lapse mode to capture the Milky Way moving across the sky. This sure turned out to one amazing night and I was glad to have rolled in late! http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Collegiate East Mountain Range

Collegiate East Mountain Range

On a past camping trip along the Collegiate East Mountain Range in Central Colorado, it was around the time most of the people settled in for the night when the moon started to rise. Throwing on the last of the wood in the blazing fire, I went over and set my camera up to try and capture this pretty sweet night, with the remote timer set I hit the trigger then ran back by the fire to get in the shot. This weekend turned out to be picture perfect weather, not to mention a great way to kick off another camping season. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

The View into Red Rock Canyon

Heading down a less traveled road in Western Colorado I ended up stopping at a area called Red Rock Canyon, after loading the camera gear in a pack I made the short hike over to the river. When I made it to this spot I pulled out the camera to try and capture a few shots before the sun disappeared behind the clouds, this afternoon was off and on sunshine but with a warm breeze that was blowing through the area, it made this afternoon a pretty sweet one. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Heading North on Highway 131

Heading North on Highway 131

The other day while heading North on highway 131 I decided to pull off to the side of the road for a short break, looking West over the Colorado River the red rock cliff off in the distance seem to glow in the afternoon sun. I grabbed the camera out of my truck to capture a few photographs on this very nice Spring day, it’s pretty crazy to think just a short drive away I went from full out Winter to very Spring like conditions. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/
