Sunset Heading Southbound on Highway 9

Driving Southbound on Highway 9 the clouds started to break over Peak 8, having a feeling this was going to turn into a pretty cool looking sunset, I found a place to pull off the highway. About a time I jumped out of my truck to take a photograph, a beam of light shot over Peak 8, wasting no time taking this photograph this light only l asted about a minute before fading away. This has to be one of the better sunsets I’ve seen in awhile! Photography Website - http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Snow Covered Town

Early morning after a past snow covered town I made my way towards Main Street Breckenridge, being mid week and after the crazy holidays this place seem so quiet and empty on this cold Winter morning. A slight glow started to light up the peaks in the distance as I stopped to take this photograph, this turned out to be a pretty relaxing morning to kick off another very nice day. Aftermath of a Good Snowstorm

With the aftermath of a good snowstorm, I made my way above town to capture a few winter photographs. Around the time I made it to this location the morning sun started to light up the Ten Mile Range, this was a very cold start to the morning, but what a great way to kick off the day with a layer of fresh snow. Early Morning at Breckenridge Village

As the first hint of the morning sunrise started to light up the sky over Breckenridge Village, I snapped this photograph looking over the Maggie Pond towards the village. With the very slow start to the Winter this season, it was nice to see a fresh layer of snow covering the area for the first time in awhile. Winter Snow Pillars

Winter Snow Pillars

With the storm finally breaking a cold air settled in over town, as I made my way to the village in Breckenridge, I noticed beams of light shooting into the air on the ski slope. I decided to make a short detour to see if I could capture what they call snow pillars with my camera. After a few failed attempts I finally captured this one as a third light lit up the sky, it didn’t take long to figure out what was the third very bright light, it was a snow cat coming down the mountainside while grooming the ski run. One pretty cool thing about these very...

Climb up Snowy Mountain Side

Climb up Snowy Mountain Side

As I made my way up the snowy mountain side I found myself busting through knee deep powder, once the sunrise began a break in the clouds revealed the peaks of the Ten Mile Range. It didn’t take long for a bright orange glow to light up behind the mountains, wasting no time I pulled out the camera and snapped in the telephoto lens to capture this shot. This morning turned out to be a very cold one, but with a sunrise like this it was well worth the climb! http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Early Morning Cold Chill

Early Morning Cold Chill

With a cold chill hanging over a town, a beam of light started lighting up Red Mountain off in the distance. Stopping for a quick photograph I took this shot looking Southeast, with more snow rolling into the area over the next couple of days, this should be a nice White Christmas coming up for the Colorado Rockies. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Morning After a Snowstorm

Morning After a Snowstorm

The other morning after a recent snowstorm had hit the area, I made my way into downtown Breckenridge, with the bitter cold air hanging around the area and fresh snow over everything, I figured it would be a good morning to capture a few shots. When the sun finally started to rise it lit up the clouds above Baldy Mountain, causing a cool orange glow to light up town. I didn’t spend a lot of time outside on this morning due to cold, but I was glad to be at the right place at the right time. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

Early Morning Light

Early Morning Light

With the first hint of light in the early morning I made my way up a trail above town, the moon was lighting up the snow as the lights in town where shinning bright below. As the snow guns where blazing away on the ski hill above town, a cloud was hanging over Peak 8 and the headlights from the snowcats where causing beams of light to shoot through. One thing about the calm after the storm, it sure makes for some cool looking mornings around the Colorado mountains. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/

After a Good Snowstorm

After a Good Snowstorm

Last Thursday morning after a good snowstorm rolled through town overnight, I made my way towards main street on this very cold morning. The clouds where breaking up overhead under a moonlit sky, while the mountain was covered in a cloud as the snow guns where roaring off in the distance on the ski hill. I decided to stop and set up my camera on the tripod to capture this photograph, it may have been cold but what a morning this turned out to be. http://www.mjbauerphotography.net/colorado-gallery-1/
