Hike into Fisher Towers

Waking up to deep blue sky’s a hike into Fisher Towers was in order, packing up some snacks and camera gear, I set off on the five mile roundtrip hike into the red rock country. The hike was anything but easy, around each corner and climb up the towers stood tall above in every direction. On this day there was only a handful of people I ran into and most of them where rock climbers, I would have to say climbing these towers seem pretty crazy, but I’m sure it’s a pretty amazing rush standing on top of one of these. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Fisher Towers Night Sky

Arriving late at night I finally made it to the Fisher Towers Campground, here it was mid week in February and I had this place to myself. A nice warm snap had hit the area and I was enjoying some very nice mild temperatures for this time of year, when setting up the tent on this very peaceful night, the stars above where blazing bright while the Fisher Towers stood tall and dark off in the distance. Talk about getting very lucky on the weather on this trip into the Utah desert. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Moon Lighting up Dredge

The other evening walking into town the moon started breaking out of the clouds above, the light from the moon was shinning a beam above the Dredge boat that was frozen in the pond. Being a Monday night the town seem so quiet with very few people walking around, this evening was a nice change of pace after one crazy busy weekend in the mountains. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Ten Mile Range

About the time we where ready to pack up the camera gear, the clouds began to break up over the Ten Mile Range and soon the moon made a appearance. I wasted not time pulling off this last photograph right before the moon disappeared behind the snow capped mountains. Once the moon was gone we packed up our gear, lit up the headlamps then set off on a short hike back down the snow packed trail under a star filled sky. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Winds Finally Started to Die Down

The other evening the winds finally started to die down as the clouds began to break up, lighting up our headlamps under the night sky, we made our way along the snow covered Boreas Pass Road. A few minutes later breaking out of the trees, the view of the mountains and town below where shinning bright under the moonlight. We must have spent a good hour shooting photographs at this locations, talk about a peaceful night after the past few days of dealing with crazy winds. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Trail to Mayflower Gulch

Last week under the Colorado deep blue sky, I made my way up Fremont Pass to Mayflower Gulch Trailhead. With no wind and cold temps the trees where covered in a thick layer of snow, the mountain range off in the distance seem to pop with late afternoon sun. I only hike up a little ways before the snow started getting too deep, next time I come back to this place I will be bringing my backcountry ski gear. http://mjbauerphotography.net

The Quarter Moon

When heading back into town last night the quarter moon was shinning bright over the Breck Golf Course, I ended up pulling off the road and found this spot with a great view of the Ten Mile Range off in the distance. While standing outside taking this photograph the winds where tearing across the snow, at the same time the clouds where moving fast over head which created a pretty cool looking effect on this very nice night. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Old Log Cabin

Here it was on a very bitter cold morning a pretty nice looking sunrise was starting to blow up over a old log cabin, when making my through downtown Frisco, I decided to bear the weather for a few early morning photographs. I was only out for a good ten minutes before heading back to my truck to warm back up, the good news on this day was the cold Arctic air was finally starting to move out and back North, I always enjoy Winters but I can do without that cold Arctic air. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Walk into Keystone Village Resort

With a light steady snow falling down around me I decided to take a walk into Keystone Village Resort, there was a flow of people coming off the mountain after night skiing on this cold Winter night. Stopping by this bridge I decided to set up the camera then waited for a break in the crowd, about 15 minutes passed when finally there was a good break in all the people, I wasted no time and took this shot. This had turned into one very nice night , feeling very relaxed I was glad I made the call to come over to this place. http://mjbauerphotography.net

Keystone Village Fireworks

Last Saturday under a snow filled sky I made my way over to the Keystone Village, about the time I showed up the lights from night skiing where lighting up the mountainside. Soon a firework show broke out and I only had a few minutes to try and capture the shot, finally after a few failed attempts I pulled off one decent photograph. This night was storming pretty good with heavy snow coming down, but not feeling to cold outside this turned out to be a great night to come over to the area. http://mjbauerphotography.net
